Vagamon is quieter, less crowded, and closer to Kochi than Munnar. Munnar is larger with more commercial attractions, but also more traffic and tour-bus crowds. Vagamon suits families wanting a slower pace and walkable landscapes. The drive between Vagamon and Munnar is 65–93 km — combine well as a Kerala hill circuit.
